Modern Villa For $17.8 Million Hugs The Sea On The Spanish Island Of Mallorca

The striking blue waters edging Camp de Mar, on the Spanish island of Mallorca, have a mesmerizing quality.

The quiet resort village is known for its sun, sand, beaches and sheltered coves. It’s also a celebrity and glitterati hotspot.

This modern two-house compound is set on the water with direct access to the Balearic Sea.

The main villa centers an open plan living-dining room with a chic hanging fireplace. A wall of glass faces a swimming pool area and the bay. Sliding glass opens to an outdoor dining room and living area with transparent railings.

Sun and shade play on the turquoise and blue waters of the irregular shaped swimming pool, matching the varied appearance of the sea. A wide expanse of decking with umbrellas and lounges creates a resort vibe.

The sleek kitchen, which opens to the formal dining space, has a center island with eating and prep space. Shiny white and metal finishes are paired with a light wood counter for an elegant look.

The white and wood theme continues in the primary bedroom, which spans one whole floor and includes two en suite bathrooms. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors open to clear rail balcony. The three additional bedrooms also have en suite bathrooms.

A wellness area in the basement contains an indoor swimming pool, a wooden lounging deck and a sauna.

The guest and staff house contains a living room, its own kitchen, three bedrooms and a separate staff apartment with two bedrooms.

There are a total of 10 bedrooms and nine bathrooms within the 1,050 meters, or 11,302 square feet, of living space.

Camp de Mar is some 20 miles west of Mallorca’s Palma airport.

Beyond beach going, popular outdoor activities include boating, snorkeling and sailing. Golf and tennis are nearby.

The dearth of commercial development is part of the attraction of the quiet enclave. That said, local businesses do include shops, bars and upscale hotels. One of the hotels is known for its island beach bar reached by a pier.

Restaurants offer seafood and traditional fare. Regional delicacies include roast suckling pig, escargot and a rice dish of sausage, vegetables and spices.

Mallorca has a wealth of places to visit including a castle and caves.
